The film: Final cut

Five shots in one beach club. The waiter carries a tray through the tables, three guests are already enjoying LIDO, and he comes back to set down the range.

How it was made

Planned five shots and approved a storyboard and one starting image per shot, made from the LIDO brand photos.

Blocked all five shots in Blender on one shared beach layout, with clean cuts at 3, 5, 7 and 9 seconds.

Sent each shot's previs to Wan 3.0 Prime on fal as the motion reference, with its starting image and a packaging photo.

Generated one shot at a time at 480p, reviewed each take, then cut the five together.

Shot 01 · Waiter: Follow the waiter

A rear tracking shot: he walks away through the tables with the tray level, one Black can and an iced coffee on it.

Wan kept the LIDO BEACH shirt, the stride and the camera follow from the previs.

Shot 02 · Black: Finish the sip

The guest finishes his sip and lowers the glass while the Black can stays put on the table.

A blurred shoulder drifts in from the lower right at the end. We kept the take.

Shot 03 · Oat: Lower the book

She lowers her paperback to show her face, with the Oat can on the side table.

Asked to lower it a little, Wan took it all the way to her lap, and her hand ended up curled around the can.

Shot 04 · Salted Vanilla: A look back

Over her shoulder: a small, warm turn to camera and a slight lift of the can she's holding.

The can stays beside her face at real size. The first previs pushed it into the lens; this one doesn't.

Shot 05 · The range: Back to the range

The waiter comes back and lowers his tray beside the three cans while the camera settles on the row.

Exactly three cans in the right order, with space above for type. He leaves frame before the tray fully lands.

What went wrong: The towel in the lens

The first Blender draft used foreground wipes between shots. At about 6 seconds a towel filled the whole frame, then the Salted Vanilla can swelled up into the lens.

Fix, in Blender: rebuilt the motion with clean cuts, a clear view in every shot and no product pushed at the camera.

What went wrong: Soft can text at 480p

LIDO, the flavour names and the colours hold. The small line under each flavour name turns to gibberish: at 480p a can is only about 100 pixels wide.

The packaging references were poster images with headlines. The clean studio pack shots were in the LIDO product library all along.

Six lessons from LIDO

Blender previs plus Wan 3.0 Prime got all five shots on the first take: five takes, five kept, no retries.

Approved starting images hold the look. Faces, wardrobe and the beach world stayed consistent across the cuts.

Wan exaggerates small moves. "Lower the book a little" went all the way to her lap, and the waiter walked out of frame instead of setting the tray down.

Unrequested detail creeps in at the frame edges: a blurred shoulder drifted into Shot 02.

Label text is the weak point at 480p. The colours and wordmark survive; the small print doesn't.

Foreground wipes and pushes at the lens broke the first previs. Clean cuts on one shared layout fixed it.

What we ran

Wan 3.0 Prime (reference-to-video): Blender clip, starting image and packaging photo. Used: 5 takes, all 480p, all kept.

Codex image generation (storyboard and starting images): LIDO brand photos and the waiter photo. Used: 1 storyboard, 4 starting images.

Kling 3.0 Pro, LTX-2.3 and Seedance 2.0 (motion control, control, reference): Blender clip as control or reference. Not tried: Wan held the motion on the first test.

What we'll do better or try

Use the clean studio pack shots as packaging references from the start, not poster images with headlines.

Render finals at 720p or 1080p when labels matter; keep 480p for motion tests.

Give exact amounts in the prompt and the previs, like "lower the book 10 cm", and keep hands off the product unless the shot needs it.

Land key actions inside the frame in Blender and hold them, so the tray is set down on camera.

Set up the fal key in the studio before the first test: a missing key paused the first generation.

Try a 1080p finish pass with the studio pack shots (about $3.40), and test Seedance 2.0 on the product close-up.
