Nula earplugs
Skin-tone earplugs in two colourways. The set needed matched angles in both colours, believable fit on real ears, and a written method for adding angles without the product drifting.
At a glance
Role
Art direction, prompting and selection. Wrote the consistency method and the product rules.
Tools
- Content Studio Engine (CLI)
- Gemini 3 Pro Image
- Gemini Omni Flash (film)
- HTML ad templates
Outcomes
- Matched product angles in both colourways, made by changing colour only on approved angles.
- Fit and scale images checked against written product rules, such as the ring sitting coaxial with the ear canal.
- Eleven ads across feed, story and square formats, and an 8-second film.

The method

1. Hero plate Approved first, in one colourway.
2. New angle The hero plate is the only reference, plus one short rotation instruction.
3. New colourway The approved angle is the only reference; the prompt changes colour and nothing else.
"Any second reference gives the model two things to reconcile and it invents a compromise shape."
"Do NOT generate a new angle in a new colour from the hero plate — it snaps back to the hero pose."
"Terse and positive. Never write negation lists — naming a forbidden element reliably summons it."
Quoted from the approved set's manifest, 17 August 2026.
A colourway prompt

- The one changeChange only the colour, from brown to a pale warm skin-tone beige, keeping the matte tip and glossy loop.
- GroundPure white background.

Full prompt as sent
The exact same photograph as the reference image: same camera angle, same two earplugs, same shapes, proportions, positions and lighting. Change only the colour, from brown to a pale warm skin-tone beige, keeping the matte tip and glossy loop. Pure white background.
Nula run version 12. Reference: the approved brown loops angle.
The product set

Product rules used for QC
Written down after early passes got them wrong, then used to accept or reject every fit image.
Tip offset
The hooked stem holds the ear tip outside the loop circle, so the hoop opening reads clear from every angle.
Worn fit
The ring sits coaxial with the ear canal, low and forward behind the tragus, about a quarter of the visible concha. Earlier passes placed it too high, too central and too large.
Colourway
The colourway matches the wearer's skin tone. The product is meant to disappear, not contrast.
Fit and scale

Ads
Eleven ads in 4:5, 9:16 story and 1:1 formats; six shown. Ten were rendered from HTML templates with shadow-free cut-outs, and a script measures each line of text against the pixels behind it.
